As the fasting period of the moslem community nears termination, the Kyabazinga of Busoga is on the verge of inviting believers to celebrate the festivals together.
His Majesty William Wilberforce Nadiope Gabula IV is ready to host over 5000 moslems who will have their last holiday Juma at this Igenge palace in Bugembe Jinja city.
This was confirmed by the kingdom prime minister Dr Joseph Muvawala during a press briefing that attracted several leaders of the religion on Monday, April 1, 2024, at the kingdom headquater in Bugembe.
The memorable is scheduled for Friday April 5, 2024, is open to every individual belonging to the muslim faith, according to Dr Muvawala.
Muvawala revealed that every visitor to attend the memorable occasion in the palace shall receive a package from the king to rejoice the celebrations of Ramadan.
“Over 5000 Muslims shall be hosted and have a package to take home. This signifies the relationship between the Busoga kingdom and the Moslem faith,” noted Muvawala.
Muvawala elaborated on the importance of the event, stating that the King will on that day officially present the Inhebantu, Her Royal Highness, Jovia Mutesi, to the believers.
“The Kyabazinga has embarked on seeking God’s divine to grace his leadership, and the memorable day shall serve as a time to pray for the region’s challenges,” he said adding that It will be the first prayers to be held in the Palace since its launch.
Busoga Regional Khad Dr Hussein Muhammad Bowa said the initiative shall foster unity among the kingdom subjects.
Dr Bowa commended the majesty for associating with all religions , and he believes that it is a sign of social development.
“The Kyabazinga is really a good parent because of his association with all religions. He has really done us very well to host us as moslems in his palace,” he said, adding that “We need to thank him, and we shall not stop thanking him.”
After the colourful event on Friday, the Kyabazinga will preside over an Iftar dinner at Jinja’s Civil Service College on Saturday, April 6, 2024, which premier Muvawala emphasized that only invited guests shall be recognized.
Muvawala, however, rallied political leaders to embrace the dinner, which is coordinated by the Uganda’s first deputy prime minister, Rebecca Kadaga, in partnership with the Turkish embassy.
