Dr Abed Bwanika, the Kimanya Kabonera Member of Parliament in Masaka subregion has warned the National Unity Platform leader, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine to stop ‘bragging’ that he is the one who took them with Mathias Mpuuga to parliament.
Bwanika was appearing at the Buganda’s BBS TV while responding to Bobi Wine’s utterances that he is the one who took his defiants to parliament.
During a burial ceremony over the weekend in Lwengo district, the NUP Principal, Kyagulanyi stated that he has no problem with Mr Mathias Mpuuga and Dr Bwanika because he even provided a pathway for them to reach Kampala to enjoy the legislative offices.
“If it is you who take people to parliament, when did you love Bwanika and leave out your brother [Fred Nyanzi] and your sister in Gomba? Bwanika wonders during an interview on TV.
“You gave your brother and sister NUP cards. Why didn’t you take them to parliament?” he further questioned.
Mr Fred Nyanzi, commonly known as Chairman Nyanzi, stood against Muhammed Nsereko in the 2021 general elections in Kampala, but he was hit by the independent Nsereko despite the people power wave in the national polls.
Bwanika says it is the people who voted for him in Masaka [Kimanya Kabonera constituency].
Bwanika even told off Bobi Wine that his voters would still send him back to parliament after the current five year political term.
“I do what they sent me to do. I believe that if I deliver well, it is them to make final judgements. The political party only gives a flag but not votes. Not only Bwanika but the party gave cards to 330 candidates, but only 57 came to parliament,” Bwanika added.
Dr. Bwanika and Hon Mathias Mpuuga (Nyendo-Mukungwe) have become a thorn in the shoes of Bobi Wine.
They argue that the singer-turned-politician can never make decisions for Masaka.
