The music industry in the Eastern Busoga subregion is invaded by a talent that has put legends on tenterhooks.
Amuza Mande, known by his vibrant stage name, Captain Jinja, is now the motion of debate in Jinja City and beyond after the release of his brand new hit, “Busoga Enuma”.
The tourism song that describes the significant fruits and wonderful features of Busoga has become a signature tune on radio stations and street libraries.
Trending on different social media platforms, especially TikTok, where several challenges have been made from the lyrics, the song was produced by Ivo Bwongo from the Ava Records studio based in Jinja.
Music lovers and analysts say the young talent who has before composed Mbisobola, Kyatule, Zaabu, and Pungulu, among others, will potentially challenge legends.
“It was my dream to sing about the beauty of Busoga. I sat together with my writer Kim Pawa and successfully came up with that exciting hit,” Captain told The Eye Media.
The song attracted the attention of the first deputy prime minister, Rebecca Kadaga, who commended the lyrics and pledged support towards the singer’s progress.
“True definition of Busoga endowed with fruits. Thank you, Busoga artist, Captain Jinja,” Kadaga commented.
“Mama Kadaga pledged to facilitate the video shooting of this hit and I shall be very grateful,” Captain Jinja said.
A born of Mukokotokwa village in Mbulamuti subcounty, Kamuli district, Captain Jinja is a radio presenter attached to the Jinja based Kiira FM [88.6 Pride of the Nile].
Last weekend on Saturday, May 18, the singer registered a success after his Mbisobola Live Concert yielded at Savers Hotel in Bugembe, a Jinja city suburb.
“It was my first show in town, and it was a success. Arrangements, turn-up, and performances were all very well,” he said.
Captain Jinja’s exciting talent only lacks management for the effective progressiveness of the young singer.
