Speaker of the 11th Parliament, Annet Anita Among has honoured her predecessor, Rebecca Kadaga, on her birthday, describing her as a dedicated leader.
The speaker, in her honourable message to the now first deputy prime minister and minister for East African Community Affairs [Kadaga], commended her for the profound leadership that has laid a significant foundation for the legislative progress.
“I join fellow citizens in extending heartfelt birthday wishes to our esteemed Speaker Emeritus, Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga. Your unwavering dedication and profound leadership gave laid a robust foundation for our legislative progress,” Among wrote on “X” handle.
She added that; “May your special day be filled with joy, and may the coming year bring you continued happiness, fulfilment, and recognition for your invaluable contributions to our nation. Long live Mama Waife!”
Kadaga who served as deputy speaker and full speaker of parliament for two political terms respectively, celebrated her 68th birthday Thursday May 23, 2024.
It is worth noting that the two leaders have reportedly not been good friends and Among’s beautiful message to Kadaga has caught many by surprise.
