Police in Kamuli are hunting for a 34-year-old woman identified as Suzan Namuganza for reportedly chopping off her husband’s genitals.
The victim was identified as Kawubanya Moses 45, the director of Serena Children’s Home resident of Busana zone, Nabirumba ward, Nabwigulu subcounty in Kamuli district.
Police say that the incident occured on Monday June 10, 2024 at around 3:00am.
Police’s initial findings indicate that when their three months old baby started crying, Namuganza [his wife] woke up and the victim thought she was getting milk for the baby but unfortunately, on coming back, Namuganza fell on the victim and cut off her husband’s genital.
ASP Micheal Kasadha, the spokesperson of Busoga North regional police confirmed this tragedy.
“We have launched a serious manhunt for a 34-year-old woman identified as Suzan Namuganza for allegedly attempting to murder her husband by cutting off his genitals,” said Kasadha
According to Kasadha, the victim also ran to the neighbourhood, who helped him and rushed him to KamuliGeneral Hospitall for medical attention.
The woman is alleged to have fled with the yet to be known sums of money, and a report was made at Kamuli central police (CPS).
Kasadha echoed that further inquiries are ongoing to establish circumstances surrounding the whole matter.
