A 34-year-old woman has been arrested and remanded after her own husband dragged her to police and pinned her for defilement of boys.

The suspect is Caroline Muzaki also known as “Namugisu,” a resident of Bubolwa ‘B’ Village, Bulumbi Sub-county in Busia District.

According to her 28-year-old husband, Egesa Kulambano, Namugisu has since 2023 been sleeping with a primary 6 boy, names withheld because he is only 17 years.

Egesa stated that he had warned his wife about the affair but she continued the relationship.

On June 12, he pretended to be away from home and returned at night, discovering the boy in his bedroom. Egesa then escorted the minor to Bulumbi Police Post and filed a trespassing complaint.

Bukedi region police spokesman, Moses Mugwe, said that further investigation revealed that the alleged trespasser was a juvenile who the complainant’s wife had defiled. Consequently, a case of defilement was brought against Muzaki.

The boy was released to his parents, as police noted he was underage and needed protection from abuse.

During her appearance before Busia Chief Magistrate Thomas Okoth, the court heard that between August last year and February 24, 2024, Muzaki defiled a 17-year-old boy.

Muzaki was not allowed to enter a plea due to lack of legal representation and was remanded to Masafu Prisons until June 27.

As she was being led back to the court holding cell, she denied the charges, claiming her husband had framed her.
