Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) across the country are pleased with the disciplinary steps being taken against minister Diana Mutasingwa for the alleged humiliations against their colleague, Hajjat Hawa Ndege Nabugenyi, who represents the president in Buikwe district.
Mutasingwa is now set to face the disciplinary committee for what has been termed as misbehaving in public.
“She acted so local and not like a leader. We thank our beloved PS, Hajji Kakande for coming in to save the image of the presidency by letting the minister know that the office she ordered to be closed is for the president who appointed her,” an RDC who preferred anonymity was quoted.
Her (Mutasingwa) orders to arrest and close the office of the RDC prompted Hajji Yunus Kakande the Permanent secretary in the office of the president to swing into action.
Kakande this week lashed at the Buikwe Woman MP for disrespecting not only the RDC in her district but also herself when she abused the president’s representative in public.
Kakande educated Mutasingwa that as a minister, she would have reported the RDC’s weaknesses to the RDC Secretariat for better management.
Addressing the media at his office, Kakande said Mutasingwa’s actions would be investigated and appropriate actions taken.
He blamed Mutasingwa, the state minister in the office of the vice president for overstepping her mandate.
Not only to the minister Mutasingwa but Kakande also cautioned other statesmen and political actors who disrespect the works of the commissioners who were appointed by the fountain of honour.
Kakande’s remarks have been greeted with a lot of praises from the RDCs.
The Commissioners say they were saved by their signatory boss Kakande whom they praise for mounting fences on their offices.
“In fact, I viewed the entire video, but I was shocked to learn that it was a minister quarrelling like that ………. shouting….!!,” said a commissioner.
