Major Martha Asiimwe, the head of the RDC Secretariat in Uganda, has described the tragic death of Budaka Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Nusura Nabukalu, as a significant loss to both the presidency and the nation. Major Asiimwe, who closely monitors the performance of RDCs across Uganda, praised Nabukalu as a “polished cadre” and a promising administrator whose service to the community was invaluable.
Hajjat Nusula Nabukalu, commonly known as “Bwera,” lost her life in a horrific road accident on Sunday evening, December 29, 2024.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. at the Waitambogwe curve in Waitambogwe Subcounty, Mayuge District, along the Jinja-Iganga Highway. Nabukalu was driving a 2023 Toyota Demax Double Cabin (UG 4803C), traveling towards Jinja, when her vehicle collided head-on with a trailer (KDH 025V).
The Deputy RDC had just attended an official event at Bulamagi in Iganga District before the tragic incident. Eyewitnesses reported that the collision left her vehicle severely damaged, and despite immediate efforts to save her, Nabukalu succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Following the accident, Nabukalu’s body was transferred to Jinja Regional Referral Hospital by Bugweri Resident District Commissioner, Magala Banuli, for further handling.
The news of her untimely death has sent shockwaves throughout the region, with many remembering her for her unwavering dedication to serving the people of Budaka. As investigations into the cause of the crash continue, more details will be shared in due course.
