LUUKA – Excitement is sweeping across Luuka District as residents count down to the highly anticipated mega concert, “Ekibinuko Va Mundoolo,” being organized by Hajji Faruk Kirunda, the Special Presidential Assistant for Press and Mobilisation alongside Hon Balaam Barugahara, Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs and others.
The event, slated for Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Lambala Primary School, has become the talk of the town and surrounding communities.
From trading centers to taxi stages, youth groups and boda-boda riders, the buzz is real — and the message is clear: Luuka is ready!
The grand event, expected to feature fireworks, a dance party, and speeches from prominent leaders, is being widely hailed as a celebration of community, unity, and the NRM government’s achievements in the sub-region.
“We can’t wait! Hajji Faruk Kirunda is one of our own, and the fact that he is bringing such a big event here shows how much he values the people of Luuka,” said Mariam Nabirye, a youth leader from Waibuga.
The event will be graced by several political and government dignitaries, including Members of Parliament, NRM District Leaders, and successful youth entrepreneurs. At the event, Hon. Balaam will represent President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as Chief Guest.
“This isn’t just a concert. It’s a message that Luuka matters,” said Emma of Lambala Trading Centre.
“We are honored to host the Minister and grateful to Hajji Faruk for thinking about his people.” quickly added Yasin Isabirye of Buwala
According to the organizers, everything is in place to ensure maximum enjoyment, security, and organization. Transport arrangements are being finalized for people coming from far-off subcounties like Bukanga, Bulongo, and Nawampiti.
“The youth are fired up. Everyone is talking about it. It will be a night to remember!” declared Asuman Mbago, a local leader.
Hajji Faruk Kirunda, who has earned a reputation for grassroots mobilisation, is using the event to further connect leaders to the people, especially the youth. His team confirmed that the event is free of charge and open to everyone.
“We want to celebrate progress, unity, and culture — and to give the people of Luuka a memorable day,” one of his aides said.
With the excitement building by the hour, Ekibinuko Va Mundoolo promises to be one of the biggest social and political events Luuka has witnessed in recent years.
