Grief and disbelief continue to grip Idudi Nsozi Ibiri Village in Bugweri District, following confirmation that the decomposing body exhumed from the home of former Jinja Inspector of Schools, Aminah Mutesi, is indeed that of Jesca Mutesi.
Forensic experts have positively identified the remains after thorough examination, confirming what many had feared since the gruesome discovery earlier this week at Aminah’s residence in Njeru Division, Buikwe District.
Family members, still struggling to come to terms with the horrific crime, revealed to The Eye Media that Jesca’s private parts had been removed, fuelling further suspicions that the murder may have been linked to ritual sacrifice.
In an emotional message shared by one of Jesca’s relatives, they wrote:
“For sure I am still cold over this matter. You even go on and cut off your fellow woman’s genital parts 🙆🏿♂️. If I was not at the scene witnessing Aminah Mutesi showing where she actually buried Jesca, I would have thought it was false accusations. We thank God at least we got the body, and burial is today in Idudi Nsozi Ibiri. May her soul rest in peace.”
The recovery of Jesca’s body has brought partial closure to the grieving family, who are now preparing to lay her to rest this afternoon.
Police say investigations into the circumstances and motive behind the killing are ongoing, with Aminah Mutesi remaining in custody.
The case has sent shockwaves across Busoga and the education sector, where Aminah once served in a senior role.
Residents and leaders are calling for a thorough and transparent probe, with several activists demanding that justice be served to deter similar acts in the future.
