Shock and grief engulfed Mitooma district when they woke up on the tragic news of suicide by hanging of a 12-year-old pupil.
The pupil who has veen in P.6 at Parental Care Kyehimba School has been identified by the police as Jeremiah Amanya.
According to police, the deceased was living with his grandmother, Beatrice Komwariro.
It is alleged that on the night of the incident, Amanya had dinner with his grandmother and later went outside to take a bath.
However, he did not return the following morning, prompting a search for him.
“Sadly, his lifeless body was found hanging from a tree in a nearby bush,” says a police officer.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident, and the cause of the boy’s tragic action is yet to be determined.
