At least four people were on the night of Saturday July 1, 2023 hacked to near death by panga-wielding thugs in the eastern district of Luuka, Busoga subregion.
In the new episode of attacks, the machete-wielding men stormed Bugomba village in Nawampiti sub-county and stabbed residents who were enjoying music at a house warming party hosted by Mirabu Nangobi.
The victims of the attack have been identified as Moses Waiswa, Richard Katala, Francis Mugodi and Taaka.
The severely wounded victims informed the Eye Media that they have reported their case to the police in Nawampiti.
One resident, Ben Buyinza said cases of murder are on rise in Luuka. He called upon the relevant authorities to come to their rescue.
Recently, the police in Luuka led by the DPC, SSP John Fausitine Oese arrested gangsters – members of the notorious group who call themselves Nawampiti Bijambiya group.
The group was taken to court but some politicians rescued them.
The events have sparked fear and agony amongst locals in Nawampiti.
Our efforts to get a comment from the police were futile.
