A 25-year-old boda boda cyclist identified as Azizi Waiswa Monday evening lost his life in a fatal accident that occured in Nakibizi, Njeru Municipality along the Kampala-Jinja highway.
Ssezibwa Regional Police Spokesperson, Hellen Butoto told The Eye Media that the 5:00pm accident was as a result of loss of control by the deceased, Waiswa who was overspending.
“It’s alleged that Waiswa who was riding Motor cycle Registration Number UFV 987Y a Bajaj Boxer from Jinja side on reaching Nakibizi while over taking another vehicle lost control and had a head on collision with a trailer number UBD 514Q/UBG 759T coming from the opposite side. Waiswa fell under another moving motor vehicle from Jinja side and he was smashed,” said Butoto.
The deceased body was taken to Jinja hospital mortuary pending postmortem examination and the vehicle parked at Njeru police station yard pending inspection.
“But an unknown person took away the deceased motorcycle from the scene. Efforts are on to recover it,” added Buto.
