The Police in Rubanda district are hunting for one Silverio a resident of Karengyere cell in Muko sub county for allegedly murdering his wife known as Grace Brenda Kibibi, a 27-year-old.
The unlawful act came to light when the area chairperson identified as Kwizera Katasha, 57, reported to Muko police station that swiftly took action.
Elly Maate the Kigezi regon police spokesperson reported that the incident occurred along the way from the bar at Karengyere trading center on January 25, 2024 for unknown reasons.
Allegations suggest that the chairperson while at his home, a group of Batwa believed to be relatives of the suspect, found him, informing the village leader that their son Silverio had killed his wife Brenda.
“The chairperson asked them on how they have got information, they told him as how the suspect found them at home and informed them to run away for what he had done,” said Maate.
He explained that the group led the chair to the crime scene before running away in fear that the relatives of the deceased would attack them.
He noted that the scene of crime was visited and documented and the dead body had cut wounds on the head before being conveyed to Rubanda hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Relevant witness statements were recorded and the body after postmortem was handed over to relatives for burial as investigations proceed.
