Shock and horror gripped Kasoigo Ward in Kamuli Municipality on Friday night after a retired head teacher was viciously attacked by his own wife, who allegedly cut off part of his genitals in a fit of rage.
The victim, identified as Masanka Richard, a respected retired educationist, was found lying in a pool of blood in his home after the brutal assault.
Busoga North Region Police Spokesperson, ASP Michael Kasadha, confirmed the disturbing incident to The Eye Media,.
Kasadha says the suspect has been arrested and is in police custody at CPS Kamuli. “We found the victim in a very critical condition, bleeding profusely. One of his testicles had been completely severed,” Kasadha revealed.
According to police, the motive behind the attack is still under investigation, though early reports suggest there had been domestic tensions in the home.
Relatives of the victim, still in deep shock, have pleaded with authorities to ensure justice is served, while also urging the public to embrace peaceful conflict resolution in families.
This gruesome attack marks the fourth such incident involving domestic mutilation in Kamuli District in the past year — a troubling trend that is raising alarm among both community leaders and gender rights activists.
Kasadha further condemned the attack, warning that such extreme acts of violence will be dealt with firmly.
“We urge couples facing conflict to seek counseling and avoid acts of violence that destroy lives and families,” he said.
The victim is currently receiving emergency medical care at Kamuli General Hospital, and his condition remains critical.
Police investigations are ongoing.
