Namutumba — Victoria Junior School in Budongo, Namutumba Central Ward, Namutumba Town Council held a vibrant end-of-year expo today, earning high praise from district leaders for its progressive, skills-based approach to education.
Chief Guest Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Fredrick Bangu saluted the school for seamlessly blending agricultural training with classroom learning, calling the initiative a model for nurturing responsible and skilled citizens.

“Victoria Junior School is preparing a generation that understands both knowledge and practice. This is the kind of education that secures our future,” RDC Bangu told parents, teachers, and pupils. He emphasized that introducing agricultural skills at an early age promotes discipline, creativity, and self-reliance among learners.
Leaders Emphasize Parental Responsibility and Future Planning
District Education Officer Dr. Muhammed Isiko urged parents to stay attentive to their children’s welfare during the heated political season. He also encouraged families to plan early for the 2026 academic year to ensure uninterrupted learning.
School Champions New Curriculum and Practical Skills
School Director Nathan Muyinda said the expo was designed to give parents a firsthand experience of the practical, learner-centered nature of the new curriculum. He noted that the program equips children with lifelong skills beyond the classroom.
“Our goal is to raise a generation equipped not only for exams but for life. The new curriculum helps learners discover abilities that can support them in the future,” Muyinda said.

The expo featured interactive displays, agricultural demonstrations, and learner-led presentations, all reflecting the school’s commitment to holistic education.
Alumni Inspire Learners, Praise School Standards
Old Boys and Old Girls—including lawyers, doctors, IT experts, and musicians—also graced the event. Their message, delivered by Counsel Esther Mudondo, encouraged parents to keep children in school and applauded the director and staff for maintaining the institution’s strong academic and moral foundation.
