Job seekers have been warned against falling prey to acts of homosexuality in pursuit of jobs.
Homosexuals have among other groups been targeting the unemployed people for recruitment, putting homosexuality as condition for getting jobs.
This was revealed by Jinja City Inspector of Schools, Godfrey Ngobi where he encouraged skilled graduates to focus on job creation rather than seeking for employment.
He made the remarks while presiding over the graduation ceremony of 226 students who were awarded certificates in different hands-on courses at Jinja Vocational Training Institute.
The students acquired training in carpentry, electrical installation and wiring, building, welding and plumbing.
Ngobi encouraged the students to make use of the skills they have acquired in the various fields of study to create their own jobs rather than looking for employment opportunities elsewhere or deviating from what they have studied.
He emphasized that there is a need for mindset change of parents from thinking that people who pass through vocational training are not successful.
He urged religious and political leaders to promote vocational training.
Vincent Sande, the Principal of the institute said the students were sponsored by GIZ a Germany organization in partnership with KCB -Bank Uganda through the communities who identified vulnerable students for the courses of their choice.
Mr Stephen Kibuuka Namukule, the KCB_Bank Business Development Manager said the project aimed at supporting vulnerable students both girls and boys who have shown interest in vocational training.
Mr. Jegan Ganeshamoorthy, the GIZ Project Manager said one of the objectives of the project is to promote job creation for the people through skill training and creativity.
