Police in Rukungiri are are looking for unknown assailants who murdered a 40-year-old woman at the weekend.
The dead body of Jacqueline Kyomukama was found in a nearby eucalyptus tree plantation in her village on Sunday July 9, 2023.
She was a resident of Keitumuro village, Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.
It’s alleged that the deceased was last seen in the bar of Narasi at Keitumuro trading center drinking local known as kabiriti with others on Saturday night.
Kigezi Regional police Commander told us Sunday evening that it is suspected the deceased was first raped before murder.
“A report was made, scene visited and processed and body was taken to Rwakabengo Health Centre IIl mortuary for postmortem,” said Maate.
