Police in Kabale are looking for unknown assailants who murdered a 40-year-old woman and dumped her body in a eucalyptus tree plantation.
The body of Patience Ensinikweri, a resident of Hamurambi village in Kaharo sub county was discovered in the morning of Tuesday July 11, 2023.
Patience left home on permission from her husband, Fred Kangire to go and visit her parents in the neighbouring village of Ryarubungo on Friday last week.
But shock engulfed residents on discovering her lifeless body lying in eucalyptus tree plantation near Kizinga trading centre on the road to Hamurambi village.
The body of Patience was found half naked and blood oozing through the nose.
The body also had a cut on the left ear and a wound on the left eye all bleeding.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate has confimed this report but said their efforts to use a sniffer dog were hampered by the fact that the community had tampered with the crime scene.
“We therefore conveyed the body to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem and inquiries are ongoing,” said Maate.
