In a general shake-up of representatives of President Yoweri Museveni released Monday August 19, 2024, Henry Kitambula, previously the Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) for Jinja, has been appointed as the new Deputy RCC for Rubaga Division. Kitambula takes over from Anderson Burora, who has recently faced controversies that led to his removal from the position.
During an interview with The Eye Media, Kitambula emphasized his commitment to fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders in the region. He assured the public that he would work closely with the Buganda Kingdom, the Catholic Church, the Church of Uganda, and other critical community groups to ensure a harmonious working relationship.
Kitambula also outlined his primary goal of enhancing security across Kampala, with a specific focus on Rubaga Division. He pledged to crack down on criminal gangs and ensure that the region is safe and secure for all its residents.
This leadership change comes at a crucial time for Rubaga, with many in the community looking to Kitambula for effective governance and security improvements in the area.
The reshuffle has seen most RDCs transferred to new stations.
