Haj Sulaiman Kato the presiding officer of the by-elections in Bukedea district has this Tuesday evening declared 4 NRM candidates going through unopposed.
These include the District Female Workers Representative, Mary Gorret Kitaka, Kabarwa Aub County councilor representing Kotiokot Parish, Okusa Simon, Aliogoi Sub County female councilor representing Mukongoro Parish, Among Alice and Kocheka Sub County Male Youth Councilor, Okia Joel.
Quickly after the declaration by the returning officer, the NRM communications chief, Rogers Mulindwa released a statement in which he thanked the people of Bukedea for loving the ruling party.
Three for LCV seat
Haj Kato said three had been nominated to contest for the LCV seat. He identified them as Akool Mary (NRM), Lowiisk Tychicus Ebukalin (INDP) and Oita Sam Odeke (FDC).
The most contested position is of the Directly Elected District Councilor for Bukedea Sub County where the NRM’s Ongole Richard face 4 other contestants. They include Epilo Moses, Kedi Johnson, Ojilong Richard (All Independents) and FDC’s Okia William.
The candidates for the competed-for- positions will meet tomorrow (Wednesday) to harmonize their campaign programs.
