A 40 -year-old man has been arrested by the police for single-handedly lynching his own wife to death.
The suspect identified as Vincent Byaruhanga and held at Kikoora police post is a resident of Nyamarigita village, Kikoora Sub County in Kakumiro district.
Information reaching the Eye Media indicates that in the night of Wednesday June 14, 2023 Byaruhanga assaulted to death his 35-year-old wife, Agnes Nankunda over money believed to be less than Shs 50,000.
After the murder, Byaruhanga single-handedly carried Nankunda’s dead body and dumped it at his mother-in-law’s compound.
Speaking to our reporter, Leonia Kyomugisha, a mother to the deceased said Byaruhanga reached the compound with a body on a motorcycle, dumped it in the compound and ran away.
The deceased’s elderly mother made an alarm that attracted the attention of her neighours who worked with the police in pursuit of Byaruhanga, leading to his arrest.
