Cherope Sakiya a 29-year-old disgruntled mother of three and her 5-year-old son, Francis Mazinga have died after she laced their Wednesday June 14, 2023 supper with poison before serving it to the family.
The incident happened in Nabidago cell in Mutufu Town council Sironko district.
Two other children are in critical condition at Mbale regional referral hospital where the police rushed them for help.
The two who are on treatment have been identified by the police as Marvin, 10 and Sam Mazaki, 7.
Confirming the incident to Eye Media, Rogers Taitika, Elgon Regional Police Spokesperson said they had picked information that the woman decided to kill her entire family after receiving rumour that her husband and father to her three children, Samuel Gidudu married a second wife.
Gidudu is a UPDF solider attached to Magamaga cantonment in Mayuge district.
