Classmates of Catherine Seera a Senior Three student at one of the schools in Magale town council, Namisindwa district did not see her on Wednesday.
Later, it was discovered by her peers that she had gone to see her boyfriend who lives within the town council.
The school was however sent into shock Friday Friday morning on being informed that Seera’s lifeless body had been found dangling on a rope.
Elgon Regional Police Spokesperson, Rogers Taitika confirmed the incident of suicide but residents added the 19-year-old took her life because of a failed love affair.
Residents of Wafuluya cell where Seera lived with her elder sister Edith Nabulwale said the girl found her lover with another girlfriend, prompting her to commit suicide.
The body has been taken to Mbale regional referral hospital mortuary as investigations continue.
Police say is set to dig deep into the real cause of the suicide.
