By 11:30am Saturday June 17, 2023 authorities had confirmed that the actual number of people killed in the ADF terror attack on Lhubiria SS in Nyabugando Parish, Karambi Sub County Kasese District was 43.

Out of the 43 killed, 40 are students while the three are adults.

In the attack 22 were shot by the rebels while 18 together with the school security gaurd and two other residents were killed by a bomb as the rebel group left the school.

The number of those abducted is not yet known.

UPDF has vowed to capture ADF rebels and rescue the abducted students.

Kasese is a boarder district to DRC and the attached school is only 2Km from the boarder in western Uganda.

The rebels who attacked the school while students were asleep left the school compound with charred bodies allover.

Those who were not killed were abducted, forced to carry all the food stuffs from the school and crossed into DRC with the rebel group.

In response to this devastating incident, the police and military swiftly deployed counterterrorism and specialized combat forces to the school.

Felix Kulaigye the UPDF spokesperson posted on his Twitter account Saturday morning that the abducted shall be rescued and the rebel group captured.
