65-year-old Nalongo Jane Francis of Mayindo Bulyantete village in Lugazi Municipality, Buikwe district collapsed Tuesday evening as her 25-year-old son, Rasto Kalenzi was arrested for a video he recorded, claiming he is a rebel and among the ADF militants who attacked Lhubiria Secondary School last Friday.
The elderly woman was rushed by well wishers to Kawolo hospital where she was admitted.
Kalenzi is also son to Mzee David Mujabi the LCII chairman of one of the wards in Lugazi.
“I have been warning him about bad peers and alcoholism but he could never listen. This boy (Kalenzi) wants to cause family problems,” lamented Mujabi as he saw his wife collapse while the son was being whisked by the police.
Kalenzi was arrested along his friend who put a bait for him (Kalenzi) to record and release the video clip.
In the viral video, Kalenzi, a shop attendant claims to have been part of the militants who killed at least 42 people, mostly students at Lhubiria SS in Kasese district.
In the video, Kalenzi claims they killed 70 people and not only about 40 as being reported.
He further says they have plans of more attacks on Kampala.
The self- pronounced rebel uploaded the video clip on TikTok, attracting the attention of security.
