The Defence Secretary for Wanyange Lake Village, Michael Mugoya is among the supected criminals arrested by the police in Jinja and currently detained at Nalufenya police station.
Following increasing cases of murder and theft, the police on Wednesday night carried out an operation where a total of 110 suspects were netted.
The operation was carried out in the areas of Wanyama, Kentende, Budhumbuli, Bugembe, Mafubira and Namulesa all in Jinja North Division in Jinja City.
The areas are known for having criminal gangs.
In the latest criminal act, Rogers Kifubangabo former Baba TV presenter and son to Busoga Kingdom Information Minister, Michael Kifubangabo was murdered in Budhumbuli.
However police say the operation in which the 110 were arrested is not related to Kifubangabo’s murder but a sustainable security measure.
