Kyoga Regional Police are investigating an incident of a fatal road crash that claimed the life of three cyclists in Oyam district.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon at Adyeda Cell in Loro Town Council along Lira Kamdini Highway.

It is reported that a cargo truck Registration Number KCQ 940L/ ZT 2826 headed to Lira City collided head on with a motorcycle Reg Number UEZ 422W headed to Loro Town Council.

An eye witness said the victims died instantly.

“This accident happened just few meters from Loro Town Council at Ayeda and those people died instantly,” he said.

The deceased have been identified as Denis Aporo, Innocent Ogwang and Christine Edok all residents of Lwala Village, Otkwac Parish, Alito Subcounty in Kole district.

They were going for a burial in Aber Subcounty, Oyam District.

Robert Ekwaro, Loro Town Council LCIII chairman suspected that the driver of the killer vehicle could have caught a sleep while driving.

North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson, Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the incident adding that investigations have already commenced.

The driver of the ill-fated vehicle is still at large.
