Kalangala islanders are in shock following the mysterious death of a fisherman.
The deceased collapsed dead while fishing.
The incident, according to police, occured on Lake Victoria near Nakibanga landing site in Kyamuswa sub-county, Kalangala district.
The deceased only identified as Zaamunda, 50, was in a boat casting nets alongside his friend Geofrrey Kyanda when he died.
“We were casting our nets when he collapsed. I checked on him, only to realizehe had died,” said Kyanda.
Kyanda also told the media that his deceased friend had heavy cough about a month ago but had improved.
David Galiwango, the area LCI vice chairman said that the landing site was stuck with the deceased’s body since no one knows where he came from and have no contacts of his relatives.
