Police at Lugazi Central Police Station has registered an incident of shooting which occured at Kiyindi.
It’s alleged that on Tuesday August 8, 2023 at about 10:30am, the OC CID Kiyindi Police station, Detective Cpl Muhanika Phenhas received a phone call from 2Lt Wabuche David that he shot and injured a one Takule Michael on his left foot during an operation to curb suspected illegal dealers of immature fish.
The suspect Wabuche is a UPDF officer attached to Fish Protection Unit and commander of Kiyindi Detach.
It is further established that the UPDF officer is a resident of Nakawuma cell Kiyindi Ward Kiyindi Town council in Buikwe district has been arrested.
Hellen Butoto the Ssezibwa Regional Police Spokesperson identified the victim as Takule Micheal 40.
Takule has been rushed to Makonge Health Centre 3 for medical attention as inquiries continue.
