Impeccable sources have intimidated to The Eye Media that House of Prayer Ministries lead pastor Aloysius Bugingo is out of danger.
Bugingo last night escaped death when unknow gunmen aimed at his car and in the process, his driver was shot dead as the renowned pastor survived with injuries and was rushed to Mulago Hospital’s intensive care unit.
The shocking news that spread like wildfire sent the country into prayer for the controversial pastor.
Meanwhile police in Kampala have launched a comprehensive investigation into the unfortunate incident against a prominent preacher.
The disturbing occurrence which left Bugingo’s bodyguard identified as Richard Muhumuza dead, unfolded on Tuesday at approximately 9pm at Zone 2, Kasubi Rubaga Division at Bwalakata Junction along Housing road in the Uganda capital, Kampala.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police publicist, confirmed that Bugingo who sustained major injuries during the attack and admitted to Mulago referral hospital is currently out of danger.
“Despite sustaining injuries, the Pastor managed to transport the vehicle to Mulago hospital. Regrettably, his bodyguard succumbed to assault upon arrival at the hospital,” stated Owoyesigyire, adding that Bugingo is undergoing a close monitoring medical treatment.
He reveals that; “Upon an immediate response to the incident, the assailants had swiftly escaped on a motorcycle and police discovered that the scene had been tempered with.”
The officer affirms that experts are thoroughly reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators and pledged to unveil more information about the attempted murder.
The deceased’s body was transferred to the City Mortuary at Mulago hospital for a thorough postmortem examination.
