The media fraternity especially radio business in Jinja is on the tenterhooks following the “Tujja Tujja Tujja” teaser of the anticipated new radio stations in the Busoga’s important town.

The silent pressurizing moments and rumors developed among administrations of radio stations when reports indicated that the Mailo-mbili based petrol station project said to be established by the FDC’s Nathan Nandala Mafabi, shall house a local FM.

The Nandala station is clearly targeting all main presenters with big followings at the traditional FM stations in Jinja.

Social media users’ conversations and debates especially on WhatsApp groups have since concentrated on the superb and vague managements and broadcasts of presenters and their managers who have allegedly facilitated the downfall of their companies given the unprofessional managements and presentations.

Whereas some people believe that the long-awaited Nandala’s FM that has since last year failed to hit the air waves, shall top current stations, others are optimistic that the radio may have no any distinct.

The radio, whose name hasn’t been identified was popularized on social media by the Ibulanku subcounty chairman, Ibrahim Ndhoga, who has always circulated the “Tujja Tujja Tujja” teaser in local WhatsApp groups, creating “is it true and when shall it start” questions among city dwellers and other smartphone users.

Ndhoga, who was in January 2023 reportedly fired from the Kyesimira road based Busoga one FM, has only utilized his smartphone to cause panic in radio administrations following his maximum efforts of pushing the unknown type of traditional media.

Vibrant radio stations have commenced making changes in administrations, programming and on-air staffing while some employees are expected to quit for the new radio.

The employment of Betty Byuma known for “Ebyekusifu”, an evening show comprising analysis of current affairs, was reportedly terminated at Busoga one FM after management received information that she was secretly meeting with the Nandala crew.

Byuma is a renowned “buddy” to Ndhoga who according to social media discussions, is leading the managerial and recruitment offices at Mailo-mbili.

Not only Byuma is from Busoga One but seasoned Lusoga news anchor,  Rachael Namatende and Brenda Nabwire are said to have already joined the team.

“Even some of those presenters you currently hear on air, are always in those meetings with Nandala team and don’t be shocked to hear their voices on the new station,” a highly placed source said.

Not only NBS and Busoga is being targeted but Baba FM and Kiira FM are other radios whose cream shall join the exodus once Nandala’s radio goes on air.

At the Nizam road based NBS FM, authorities have hurriedly brought back the seasoned talk-show host, Meddy Dhakaba, popularly known as Uncle Meddy into management by naming him Programmes Director (PD) to replace Rogers Kabuye.

Dhakaba has gone ahead to announce new changes in the programming effected first week of February, according to sources.

On addition to the Mailo-mbili project, allegations suggest that the Team Chairman (MK) mover, Baram Barugahare Atenyi, purchased the mute 92.5 Victoria FM and efforts are underway to rebranding the 2008 vibrant radio in Busoga to reclaim its competition in the region.

Reporters and broadcasters in Jinja remain lured by the new emerging stations of the well-off and money doctors, Nandala Mafabi and Balam Barugahare.

The “Esaawa Yoona” Mailo-mbili station is said to be employing superstars and radio generals, signifying vibrancy, quality and professional mediated content.

“I will need presenters to work on another station still in Busoga. Just bear it in mind that we shall have 3 new radio stations in Busoga, 2 for Nandala and 1 for Balaam. So, those who don’t pay workers, you are given a few days to revise yourselves,” Ndhoga texted in a local WhatsApp forum.

Pictures earlier shared by Ndhoga, he was posing with Brenda Nabwire, a former staff of Busoga one, welcoming her to new destination. Photos of the Lusoga news anchor, Racheal Namatende, were posted as another recruit in the Mailo-mbili camp.
