Police in Kiboga District have arrested a 39-year-old man accused of repeatedly defiling two biological sisters aged eight and 12 years.
The suspect, identified as Kiwanuka Simon, a businessman and resident of Nkokonjeru A Cell in Lwamata Town Council, is alleged to have sexually abused the minors between May and June 2026.
According to police, the matter came to light on July 2 after the younger victim fell ill and experienced difficulty walking. When her mother, Agnes Nyiramuhirwe, 41, questioned her about her condition, the child reportedly disclosed that their neighbour had been sexually abusing her.
The eight-year-old further revealed that the suspect had also been defiling her elder sister during the same period.
Upon being asked about the allegations, the 12-year-old reportedly confirmed the abuse, claiming that the suspect would give them money after the acts and warn them against revealing the incidents to anyone.
An enraged mother immediately reported the matter to Lwamata Police Station, prompting detectives to open investigations into the allegations.
Police said a case of aggravated defilement has since been registered, documentary proof of age has been obtained, and the victims have undergone medical examinations. Statements from witnesses have also been recorded.
Wamala Regional Police spokesperson, SSP Lameck Kigozi, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, who is currently detained at CPS Kiboga pending completion of investigations.
“The suspect will be produced in court as soon as the Resident State Attorney in Kiboga sanctions charges of aggravated defilement against him,” Kigozi said.
Police have urged members of the public to protect children and report cases of sexual abuse, warning that defilement attracts severe penalties under the law.
