The Kiira Regional Police Command has praised the First Deputy Prime Minister (Katukiiro) of Busoga Kingdom, , for investing in local talent and supporting the growth of the music industry in Busoga.
Kiira Regional Police Commander, SSP Charles Nsaba, conveyed the appreciation in a statement issued on Sunday following the successful conclusion of Busoga’s biggest music battle.
Prof. Lubega, who also serves as the National Chairperson of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council and Executive Director of Lubega Institute of Nursing and Medical Sciences, sponsored the competition by donating a brand-new Toyota Noah as the grand prize.
The music battle, organised by renowned events promoter Skool Fees, attracted thousands of fans from across Busoga.
The first showdown was held on June 13, 2026, at Namulesa Parking Yard in Jinja City.
The event featured performances from three artists—Uncle Hoe, Tough Sojja and Yazo Omudongole.
According to organisers, Uncle Hoe emerged as the standout performer during the Namulesa battle.
Impressed by the performances, Prof. Lubega later contacted the organisers and offered a brand-new Toyota Noah to be awarded to the eventual winner of the competition.
The grand finale took place in Buyende District on July 11 under tight security provided by joint security forces.
At the end of the competition, Uncle Hoe was crowned the overall champion and handed the vehicle.
Police congratulated the singer on his victory and commended the organisers for creating a platform that promotes talent and improves the livelihoods of artists in Busoga.
SSP Nsaba also applauded Tough Sojja and Yazo Omudongole for their spirited performances, saying the two artists have a bright future ahead of them.
He further thanked fans, bloggers and the media for turning up in large numbers and making the events memorable.
The police commander also hailed the professionalism of the security teams that maintained law and order throughout the two events without registering any major incidents.
“Special appreciation goes to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Lubega Kisambira for believing in young talent and investing in the music industry. We also thank the organisers, artists and fans for making Busoga’s biggest music battle a success,” the statement said.
