The Government has released the official burial programme for the late Rt. Hon. Gen. (Rtd.) Moses Ali, the Member of Parliament for Adjumani West County and former Second Deputy Prime Minister, who will be laid to rest on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in Adjumani District.
The three-day programme begins on Sunday, July 19, with Janaza prayers at three mosques in Kampala.
The first prayers will be held at Naguru Go Down Mosque at 10:00 a.m., followed by another at Kibuli Mosque at 2:00 p.m. The final Janaza prayers for the day will take place at Gaddafi National Mosque at 4:00 p.m.
On Monday, July 20, the body of the late statesman will be taken to Parliament at 10:00 a.m., where Members of Parliament and other dignitaries will pay tribute to his distinguished service to the nation.
At 2:00 p.m., the body will be transported to Kololo Ceremonial Grounds for an official state tribute led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Later in the evening, the body will be flown to Adjumani District, where it will spend the night ahead of the final burial rites.
On Tuesday, July 21, the body will be flown to Yumbe at 6:30 a.m. after Fajr prayers for another Janaza prayer service.
At 2:00 p.m., the body will return to Adjumani, where leaders from the West Nile Regional District Councils will pay their final respects.
The official programme will conclude with additional tributes at Paridi Stadium before the late Gen. (Rtd.) Moses Ali is laid to rest.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni granted the veteran politician and military officer an official burial in recognition of his decades of distinguished service to Uganda as a freedom fighter, military commander, cabinet minister and senior statesman.
