A 19-year-old housemaid was on Monday August 10, 2026 found hanging dead at her employer’s home in Kamaiba Lower Cell, Central Division, Kasese Municipality.
Police identified the deceased as Kabugho Sachesse, who had been working as a housemaid at the home of 57-year-old Kibirige Issa.
According to Rwenzori East Regional Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, Sachesse was discovered dead in her bedroom at about 8:00pm.
The incident was subsequently reported to police, prompting officers to respond to the residence.
Police detectives visited and documented the scene and recorded statements from witnesses as part of investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death.
The body was retrieved and taken to Kasese Municipal Health Centre III mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Police said the circumstances that may have led to Sachesse’s death remain unknown and are being investigated.
Maate urged people experiencing serious personal difficulties to seek support from trusted people or relevant professional services.
Police said inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
