President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has promoted Namayingo Deputy Resident District Commissioner Sarah Tumwebaze Kasadha to the rank of Resident District Commissioner.
Ms. Kasadha had travelled to Buyende District to attend a thanksgiving ceremony for the Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Milly Babirye Babalanda, when the President unexpectedly announced her promotion.
Before beginning his speech, President Museveni recognised Ms. Kasadha as the daughter of the late Eng. Kasadha, whom he described as a former FRONASA coordinator in Busoga.
“Before I forget, I have seen here the daughter of Eng. Kasadha, who was our FRONASA coordinator here in Busoga,” President Museveni said before asking her to come forward.
As she stood before him, the President said she closely resembled her late father and recalled his contribution to the liberation struggle that brought the National Resistance Army to power.
“You are an RDC of where?” President Museveni asked.
“I am the Deputy RDC of Namayingo,” Ms. Kasadha replied.
“I have promoted you to full RDC,” the President declared, sending the gathering into thunderous applause.
Ms. Kasadha previously served as Deputy RDC in Kamuli before being transferred to Mayuge and later Namayingo, where she currently serves.
The district to which she will be assigned as RDC was not immediately announced.
