After the announcement of Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi as the official wife to the King of Busoga, there has been a lot of anxiety and curiosity surrounding who the lucky queen is.
We have done deep dive into life of the Queen Jovia Mutesi and in this article we bring you some details about the new Inhebantu of Busoga.
She is a daughter to the Resident District Commissioner of Bulambuli Stanley Bayoole.
Bayoole formerly an FDC stalwart in Mayuge District is a former Chairperson of Mayuge Town Council where he served for two terms between 2006 and 2016, he also served as FDC Chairman of Mayuge District before joining NRM
He once stood for Member of Parliament Bunya West Constituency and lost to Minister Aggrey Bagiire.
He eventually defected to the ruling NRM in 2016 since then he has been appointed RDC for different districts including Butaleja and Bulambuli his current duty station.
In an interview with Eye Media Bayoole said he was excited when someone from the Kingdom approached him and told him about the good news of the King having chosen his daughter to become his official wife.
With smiles on his face Bayoole said he welcomed the idea and gave it a go ahead.
Preparations were made and he officially handed his daughter to the Kingdom at a traditional ceremony known as kwanjula whixh was held in his home at St Matia Mulumba zone Mayuge Town Council on Thursday 7th September 2023.
This was preceded by an official announcement by the Kingdom Premier Dr Joseph Muvawala at 4:00Pm during in Press conference held at the Kingdom headquarters wnere he also unveiled the portrait of the Queen.
Bayoole revealed that he hails from the Baise Mugosa clan in Bunha Chiefdom one of the 11 hereditary Chiefdoms of Busoga Kingdom.
When asked about details of the Queen, Bayoole said it is only the Kingdom Premier mandated to provide details about her since he already handed her to the Kingdom.
During Thursday Presser, the Kingdom Premier said he will give much details about the new Inhebantu after meeting the Chiefs Royal Council and the Busoga Lukiiko.
He announced that the official Royal wedding shall be held on 18th November 2023 at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe.
